History is an essential component of the Society and Environment course.  The Year 9 course emphases the strands of Time, Continuity and Change, Culture and Social Systems.  The special focus of the course is Australia. The semester course covers:

Two areas have been chosen to showcase student's Information Technology skills that have been taught in weekly IT lessons. The areas chosen are Early Australian History to 1820, and Exploration 1788-1850 in Semester 1, and Early Australian History to 1820 and General History Themes in Semester 2.

Students are assessed on their ability to research information on the set topic and present information using word-processing, spreadsheets (including charting), graphic presentation and web-site software.
