Geography is an essential component of the Society and Environment course.  The Year 9 course emphases the strands of Place and Space, Resources, and Natural and Social Systems.  The special focus of the course is Australia. The semester course covers:

  • Mapping

  • Antarctica

  • Weather & Weather Hazards

  • Rivers

Two areas have been chosen to showcase student's Information Technology skills that have been taught in weekly IT lessons. The areas chosen are Regional Australia, and Rivers in Semester 1, and Australian Ecosystems and Rivers in Semester 2.

Students are assessed on their ability to research information on the set topic and present information using word-processing, spreadsheets (including charting), graphic presentation and web-site software.
