Students are required to explain and comment on the background to Australian discovery and the settlement of the colonies up to 1813.  Students need to address this topic by covering 5 topics from the following list:

  • First contacts with Aborigines

  • Arrival of the First Fleet

  • Farming

  • Convict Life

  • Phillip, Hunter, King, Bligh or Macquarie

  • Whaling and Sealing

  • A successful convict
