Welcome to my web site on the Indus River. The Indus River is one of the largest rivers in Pakistan, in ancient times the Indus River was known as the Sindhu. This river flows from the Himalayas (a famous mountain in the Gilgit-Batistan region) and goes through out Pakistan and finally meets the Arabian Sea in the Sindh province. This web site will tell you all about the Indus River such as the course of the river, the many uses of the river and Threats or issues of the river. The Indus river has a length of 1,800 miles (2,900km)which is most likely to be the majority significant for the Indus in today’s society. The Indus river is one of the longest rivers in the world. The rivers annual flow is around 2.4 trillion cubic feet which would be twice that of the Nile river and three times that of the Tigris and Euphrates combined. If you study this river you will learn that the Indus river is famous for giving benefit to the rest of Pakistan. You will also learn that there are many other rivers that join to the Indus River such as the Gilgit River, Gizar River, Hunza River, Gumal River, Zhob River, Kabul River, Kunar River, Sutlej River, Beas River, Chenab River, Jhelum River and the Ravi River.
