pastoral care PROGRAM

Available in Chinese - click here

Pastoral Care is a core feature of the educational program at Blackfriars.

All students in the secondary school are placed into Houses where they meet, interact with and are cared for on a daily basis by a Home Group Teacher. Many community activities are conducted on a House basis, such as inter-House sporting competitions, in Swimming, Athletics and Volleyball, and inter-Home Group competitions such as Indoor Soccer.

Home Group teachers work closely with students to review academic progress, assist with personal problems, provide advice where necessary and encourage young people to reach their full potential.

In addition to the Pastoral Care system, three Student Counsellors are employed to assist students with specific personal problems or to provide advice about subject and careers in senior secondary.
