PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The Physical Education Department aims to provide our students with positive and effective experiences of physical activity and education. The Department is fortunate to have a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly experienced group of teachers. Many members of the faculty have played and coached sport to a high level and the staff have particular strengths in Hockey, Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Squash and Soccer.

FACILITIES

The school has a well-equipped gymnasium, and another smaller indoor teaching area that is utilised for both gymnastics and table tennis. The gymnasium also contains a weights room and two excellent general purpose learning areas. The school is also well resourced in terms of sporting equipment, textbooks, video and computer facilities.

PROGRAMME

The Physical Education programme offers a structured and progressive approach to the teaching of skills and attitudes that are so important to the development of healthy individuals. The curriculum offers students the opportunity to experience activities as diverse as rugby and gymnastics.

Students must undertake Physical Education up to and including Year 10 and may opt to pursue senior school Physical Education. The school has a record of excellence in its SACE stage II results.
