Student Health Care / Action Plans

Medical information is required to be updated annually including students individual care plans.  Health care/action plans for Allergy and Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and other Medical Conditions are available from the school and health care providers.  These are to be completed by a medical practitioner and returned to the school.  Students requiring medication at any time while at school must have the completed medication authority and supply own medication to be stored in the First Aid room.  This includes medication required for regular or occasional administration for any condition.

Please update your son’s medical information and contact me if you have any queries.

Thank you

School Procedure for students reporting as sick

The first point of referral for a student who is unwell is the school nurse. In the case of minor illness or injury, the student returns to class after treatment. A note to verify the student’s illness will be given to the student by the school nurse. In the case of a recommendation by the school nurse that the student be sent home or a request from the student

to go home, the following steps will occur:

  1. The student reports to the school nurse.
  2. The school nurse contacts the student’s parent(s)/guardian.
  3. The student presents a note to the attendant in the Student Office and waits for his parent(s)/guardian to collect him.
  4. The Home Group Teacher is notified of the situation, via a note from the Student Office.
