CO-curriculAR ACTIVITIES

The purpose of the co-curricular program at Blackfriars is to

  • Offer an opportunity to students to contribute to the growth of the community, as well as receive its benefits, and

  • Provide the opportunity for students and teachers to build relationships based on a broader and deeper understanding and appreciation of each other than is possible in the formal classroom situation.

These factors lead to an improved community spirit and the building of a tradition of which to be proud.

Expectation

Each student will participate to the best of his ability and interest in at least one co-curricular activity each year. Co-curricular activity can be:

  • An active member of a school sport

  • Active membership of the St Vincent de Paul Society and/or systematic community service

  • Participation in the school's public performance Concert Band

  • Participation in the school's Drama productions

  • Participation in Chess in inter-school or inter-club competition

  • Participation in debating, Mock Trial and Public Speaking

  • Assistance in the school's games program, such as

    • Umpiring

    • Managing

    • First Aid Assistance

    • Drinks carrying
