FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Students face enormous and exciting challenges in the 21st century. Through our balanced approach to education, our school aims to develop students with firm character, genuine faith and solid academic achievement according to their talents. A wide choice of subjects taught by a caring and well qualified staff, provides the basis for this education. In addition, we offer programs in Vocational and Education Training (VET) subjects such as hospitality, music and automotive technology. Blackfriars acknowledges the role of parents as the first educators of their children. The school seeks to work with parents in passing on the important values and life skills which help develop the whole person. We strive at Blackfriars to be a caring, Christian community and help foster in each of our students, generosity, self worth, confidence and a love of learning, as they become self-disciplined members of society. Students should both know the teaching of the Catholic Church and in so doing experience life in a community of faith. By embracing the principles of international education, Blackfriars' students are encouraged to "think globally but act locally"; a maxim that aims to produce young men who become active and responsible citizens of their community and their world. Blackfriars also offers an exciting selection of co-curricular activities to further enrich the overall development of the students. I encourage you to explore this website and any queries or enquiries about the school can be answered by the Registrar, Ms Angela Honner on admin@bps.sa.edu.au Yours in education, BRIAN TURNER |
